Wartburg
Hi Ya'll! I am sitting here in my new home in Wartburg, looking at my huge backyard. It's a beautiful sight! It's been awhile and I've missed you all. Moving is chaotic! I still trip over boxes in my basement but the rest of the house is pretty much unpacked.
We arrived in Wartburg in mid-April. I was only here for a few days before I had to go back to Chicago to get things squared away with that house so we could put it on the market. In that 7 days I was in Tennessee, we bought work out equipment, a John Deere tractor, unpacked a few rooms and got to know the owners of the local brewery. I didn't get much time to enjoy the house or the yard - it was all work and no play.
April 30th I headed back to Chicago to clean up the house. Along the road trip, I got a tick! Ugh - my best friend had to pull it out for me! Needless to stay, he was a pain for my whole trip - I ended up at urgent care a few days later because it got infected. Any hoo - I spend time with friends saying good bye and finished up working at my physical office (all remote now!) My boss threw a really nice party for me too! Mid-May, my friend Amy and I headed to Tennessee with the rest of my stuff, my cats, booze and plants!
Warburg is near Frozen Head State Park - it's minutes from my house and has amazing trails! We took Amy to see the waterfalls there. Then into Gatlinburg another day - where we saw a bear! Another hike in the Obed Wild & Scenic River trails for view that were just amazing (again, just minutes from my house).
We are finally settling in and it's starting to feel like home. I am busy gardening, arranging and just overall enjoying the country life!
Thanks for visiting and ya'll come back now, ya hear!
Time to finally relax.
